Bird watching
Bird watching
Why not explore the natural beauty of Tuscany and it’s parks, while enjoying some bird watching the same time? We will take you to the one of the best spots for bird watching, where you will find a huge variety of birds and you can choose a series of routes depending on the season. The park is occupied by the Uccellina Mountains that run parallel to the coast. In the northern part of the coast which is mostly flat, we find instead the wetlands characterised by marsh environments by the river Ombrone. Another important ecosystem is represented by the pine forest located in the Marina of Alberese. The park, thanks to its geographical position, during the migratory season is a destination chosen by many species of birds. It is also an ideal natural habitat for horses and cattle in the wild. Here live hares and hedgehogs, foxes, badgers, porcupines and the wild boars throughout the year. In the wooded areas we find the roe deer and in the pine woods the fallow deer. Finally, in the coastal area there are several carnivores including the wild cat, the marten, the skunk, and wild rabbits.
